Dial Height Gages

Dial height gages measure the height of a part, usually a cylindrical or conical surface. They are often in quality control environments for inspections in the manufacturing industry.

Dial height gages measure the distance from the lowest point on a part to its highest point. This measurement is from both sides of the object to determine if there are any inconsistencies in its surface. The dial indicator attaches to one end of a calibrated bar to account for any variations. It then uses this information to calculate an average value to use as an acceptable range for measurements on other similar parts.

Height gages are useful when determining whether there are any problems with manufactured parts by machine tools. They also determine if any damage was done to parts during shipping or storage.
