Dial Test Indicators
Dial test indicators use linear encoders to measure rotational position. They are typically useful in industrial settings to measure forces and torques or to provide feedback on mechanical systems.
They can measure the force or torque applied by a rotating shaft. Or they can measure the angular position of a shaft. These indicators use an internal encoder that converts shaft rotation into digital information. The information then displays on an LCD screen with a large dial.
Dial test indicators are in manufacturing environments where high-precision measurements are necessary. In these situations, these indicators offer several advantages over other types of measuring devices:
• They can measure both static and dynamic measurements
• They’re capable of providing real-time feedback about mechanical systems
• They have an intuitive user interface
