Blade Micrometers

Blade micrometers measure a material’s thickness. They consist of a blade that slides across the surface of the measured material and a dial indicator that indicates how far the blade moved. The distance between the tip of the blade and the measured surface. Then it’s read off of a ruler or scale on the side of the micrometer.

Blade micrometers measure thin sheets, such as paper, plastic film, and foil, to determine their thickness. Conversely, they can also measure small objects that calipers and other tools cannot measure.

They can easily reach tight corners or small spaces. In comparison, other tools may not fit well enough for accurate measurement. You can also use them to measure small amounts of material if you want to use them with calipers or other tools.
