Spherical Face Micrometers

Spherical face micrometers measure the diameter of a hole in an object. They can measure any round object as long as the object has a hole that is perpendicular to the flat surface. The spherical face micrometer is similar to other measuring tools, but instead of measuring with a flat edge, it uses a spherical shape on one end. The tool has two jaws: one with a flat edge and one with a curved surface.

The pros of using spherical face micrometers include their ability to measure accurately and consistently over time. Another pro is their ability to measure round objects with holes in them. They can measure holes in wood, metal, plastic, and rubber. Because they are so versatile, engineers and technicians who work with products like gears or pulleys on machines use them.
