Depth Micrometers

Depth micrometers are a type of micrometer that measures the depth of an object. They measure the depth of holes or slots in metal or plastic and can also measure the distance between two flat surfaces.

Depth micrometers work by using a screw and a screwdriver attached to the measuring head. The screw rotates until it reaches the bottom of the object. This causes a spring-loaded pin to poke through into a hole at the bottom of the object. You then read the measurement off from an indicator on the measuring head.

Often used in manufacturing processes requiring precision, these micrometers make a difference, especially when measuring holes or slots in metal products such as gears or bearings.
