Indicators

Indicators measure and monitor the dimensions, angles, and weights of objects. They can be mechanical or electronic. And they can measure a wide range of things, including position, pressure, speed, temperature, electrical signals, and more. Some indicators also include computers programmed to perform specific functions based on the data they receive from other sources.

Indicators ensure that products meet specific standards set by regulations or industry standards. They can also check an object’s damage since its last inspection using a known standard as a reference point.

The main advantage of indicators is that they allow people unfamiliar with metrology techniques to measure objects quickly and easily. Even without special training or certification requirements beyond those required for working in general manufacturing environments (such as OSHA certification).
